GreenDice raises €400,000 in angel investment to bring a personal computer with IT support to every Estonian school student.
GreenDice is starting its first investment round of €0.4 million to bring a solution to Estonian schools that provides every student from the 8th grade onwards with a personal computer along with IT and community support for the entire study period. As they move on from school, students can choose to transfer the service to their own name. The service starts at €6.90 per month.
Our model is unique and sustainable:
- We do not buy cheap technology, but bring quality devices to schools, the primary users of which are GreenDice's partner companies that wish to reduce their ecological footprint and strengthen their brand.
- We create a circular economy solution, which connects responsible organizations with Estonian youth.
GreenDice is already working today with well-known partners such as Tele2, SEB, Coop Bank, Nordea, Omniva, EIS, Eesti Loto, Prisma and many others.
We have tested the solution in several schools and see that we can:
- organize computer classrooms and IT systems, while reducing the existing costs for IT infrastructure in schools (Tõrva Gymnasium, Häädemeeste High School, Imavere Primary School, etc.);
- provide teachers with personal devices along with IT support;
- reduce the cost base for schools, which helps provide every student with a computer and service, as well as a platform to raise awareness about digital hygiene, financial literacy, and other useful topics.
In the age of artificial intelligence, it is important that every young person has access to technology while consciously learning to avoid the risks of smartphone addiction. GreenDice is a transparent circular economy pioneer that has already experimented a lot with a small team. The investment gives us the opportunity to take greater responsibility towards the Estonian school community, streamline processes, and continue building a model that promotes reuse. Additionally, we help to separate the wheat from the chaff by showing people which companies are truly operating sustainably.
