This is not an installment plan. The monthly fee includes the opportunity to use a proper, verified computer, warranty and insurance, as well as versatile IT support. Häädemeeste mayor Külliki Kiiver stated that as soon as she heard about such an opportunity, it immediately piqued her interest. Külliki Kiiver: “An irresistible desire arose to implement the service in our municipality as well and to enhance the digital capabilities of both the municipal government and the managed institutions. Through technical circulation, we can environmentally sustainably utilize very well-maintained modern computers from larger companies. The first major step in the digital development plan was that the high school students of Häädemeeste Secondary School already received personal laptops at the end of April, which helps them stay competitive in the conditions of a digitalizing educational environment. Young people are talented in technology, and modern devices allow their interest in the world of computers to grow even further, as there is certainly a great future in the IT field. Häädemeeste Secondary School has also had active IT students in the past, and I believe that now they will increasingly come forward as digital ambassadors. The innovative solution contributes to the digital development of students, strengthens the competitiveness of the entire region, and provides significant added value to the school, making the high school section more attractive. In addition to high school students, the used professional computers have already reached the municipal government employees, and soon they will also reach the managed institutions. Subsequently, we are pleased to equip the members of the representative body with laptops, which will significantly modernize our work processes. However, it is extremely gratifying that every resident of our municipality can take a computer on a rental basis under the same conditions as the municipal government does.”
According to the head of GreenDice, the biggest victory for the subunits of Häädemeeste municipality is the reduction of bureaucracy. “Schools and other institutions have the opportunity to receive prompt assistance for technical issues, as problematic equipment is repaired or replaced as part of GreenDice's service. This way, there is no need to make additional purchases for equipment upgrades,” said Alaniit.
Over 230 Estonian companies, including Omniva, SEB, Tele2, and several local municipalities, have already chosen GreenDice to reduce their environmental impact, thereby contributing to the development of Estonian society. This solution, where GreenDice offers service contracts to the municipality's residents on the same terms as the local government unit, is on the rise in Estonia, while the first of its kind contract was signed in Pärnu County. Last year, such cooperation began with the Tõrva Municipality Government, and according to GreenDice CEO Argo Alaniit, it has started working very well.
